Girls Gone By Publishers 2009: New paperback edition. With reinstated full text and illustrations from the first edition, and with the additional material so characteristic of this publisher's products, this is yet another collector's item. Shelley Edwards has once more provided a new and fascinating Preface, giving an insight into the book from her memories. There is a an introduction to the author and her work, and a detailed look at the settings in and around Rye Harbour, by Joy Wotton as well as the usual publishing history by myself. All these are illustrated throughout by photographs. These pieces comprise the first sixty pages of the paperback ! Geoffrey Whittam's double-page spread map then precedes the story proper and this is reproduced in full, with all illustrations included. Another beautiful book. |
