A renowned and prolific artist of children's books in the 1950s, his work is often encountered in annuals as well as illustrating well-known authors such as Enid Blyton.

He illustrated only one of Monica Edwards' works; the short story Bird in the Hand when it first appeared (c. 1959?) in a Collins Children's Annual and in its reprint in The Wizard Story Book.
