First edition: orange boards, silver blocking; overall size smaller than many other firsts: 135x190mm; 192pp; map endpapers, first version not credited; title page vignette and 16 chapter-head illustrations (circa 1/3 page).
Dustwrapper advertises 'The Wanderer', 'Punchbowl Midnight' Spirit of Punchbowl Farm' and 'Black Hunting Whip' on the back, and 'No Entry', 'The Midnight Horse', 'Cargo of Horses' and 'The White Riders' inside the back flap; cover price 8s 6d.

Reprinted: 1959: [Crown edition according to ME list, presumably changed to a six-shilling edition by inflation}
same overall size as first edition; red boards, black blocking, serif lettering with star between author and title; 192pp; internally as first except for This Edition 1959 on rear of title page.
Dustwrapper as first except that it advertises on the back 'The Nightbird', 'Operation Seabird' and 'No Entry' and on the back flap ''Frenchman's Secret', 'The Wanderer' and 'No Mistaking Corker'. Cover price 6s net.
