First edition green cloth bds with gold lettering on spine; 135x195mm; 192pp; map endpapers (first version, not credited); title page vignette and 12 b/w illustrations, none full-page.
Dustwrapper rear advertises three books by other authors, rear flap has order form for Collins Magazine; cover price 8s 6d.

Green boards, gold lettering and 192pp but smaller than the first ed (189mm x 129mm or 5" x 7.5"). Dated on rear of title page 'First edition 1952' and undeneath that 'This edition 1956'; map endpapers and 12 b&w Joan Wanklyn drawings. It has the same dw as the first; the rear lists 4 other ME titles - 'No Entry', 'Storm Ahead', 'Cargo of Horses' and 'The Midnight Horse'. The rear flap list Punchbowl titles - 'Punchbowl Harvest', 'The Wanderer', 'Punchbowl Midnight' and 'Black Hunting Whip'; cover price 6/-
